What is Startup Humboldt?
Startup Humboldt is an Innovation Hub. It was designed to be a central location for entrepreneurial activities in Humboldt County. Facilities can be used by Startup Humboldt members, and there are future plans for entrepreneurial trainings and events at the space.
Which organizations are the founding partners within the Startup Humboldt Consortium?
This group includes Cal Poly Humboldt, College of the Redwoods, Lost Coast Ventures, North Coast SBDC, Norcal SBDC, the Institute for Entrepreneurship Education, and the CPH Sponsored Research Foundation.
Do you need to be a partner to use space within Startup Humboldt?
No, you do not. However, you do need to become a member of Startup Humboldt prior to using the facility
How do I become a member of Startup Humboldt?
Either come to our office at 876 7th Street in Arcata or check us out at StartUpHumboldt.com for information on how to join as a member. Meeting space is available for co-working, conference rooms are available for meetings, and our atrium space is available in support of larger events.
What services are offered at Startup Humboldt?
As the Hub for entrepreneurial activities on the North Coast, our founding members offer tailored assistance on many commercial topics central to starting a business or addressing a business issue in an existing business. Seminars and even college classes on a variety of related topics are also offered in the StartUp Humboldt facility.
From time to time, founding members also sponsor and support local and regional business competitions designed to spur entrepreneurship in our local community. Check out our website for the latest updates on these offerings.
Who can rent/use the Startup Humboldt facilities?
Members of StartUp Humboldt can reserve space in the facility for a fee using the StartUp Humboldt CoWorks application (website). Non-members of StartUp Humboldt may attend with a member of StartUp Humboldt as long as the event has been scheduled and the required fees have been paid and any other required terms satisfied or agreed to in advance.
What does it cost to rent/use facilities at Startup Humboldt?
Costs to use the StartUp Humboldt facility vary depending on the size of the space and the time the space will be used. Coworking space is available by the hour, half-day, full-day, week or month. Conference facilities are available by the hour, half-day or full day. Please see the rate schedule at (add reference).

Does Startup Humboldt provide funds to businesses?
One of our founding partners, Lost Coast Ventures, offers funding in exchange for equity for scalable, transformative startups with a commitment to stay and grow in the area. Local bank and private foundation financing may also be available to qualified ventures.
What hours is Startup Humboldt open to the public?
9-5 Monday-Friday. Extended hours are available as required.
How do students from Cal Poly Humboldt and College of the Redwoods access services/space at Startup Humboldt?
All users desiring to organize and use the StartUp Humboldt facility must be members of StartUp Humboldt. Please check out the membership requirements at StartUpHumboldt.com. Cal Poly Humboldt and/or CR students desiring to participate in events hosted by StartUp Humboldt members are not required to have individual StartUpHumboldt memberships in order to attend sponsored events.
The best way to learn how we can help you is to stop by the StartUp Humboldt office. We are generally available from 9-5, Monday-Friday. Off hour availability may be available by appointment.
